Dear Friend, I have installed linux 7.2, I m facing some difficulty to connect internet on LAN. My cable operator using MS PROXY SERVER 2.0 with domain, which is well working both in win98 and xp, server's domain verify my user name and password. My server Ip 192.168.0.1 domain MASCABLE My Ip 192.168.0.28 My problem as follows. IN NETSCAPE When I put server IP 192.168.0.1 port 80 in proxy option, and put "WWW.YAHOO.COM" in add bar. A window appear "PROXY AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED FOR UNIDENTIFIED PROXY SERVER AT 192.168.0.1:80" I filled both. As I click OK, status bar was showing continuesly "CONNECTING 192.168.0.1:80 WAITING FOR REPLY" "HOST CONNECTED WAITING FOR REPLY" but did not get any data from web site. IN KONQUERER when I put server IP add in proxy option, as I put "WWW.YAHOO.COM" in add bar, a message appear in browser "UNSOPPORTED ACTION" "UNKNOWN AUTHORIZATION METHOD". hi salim you have not mentioned if you have configured your browsers to use the proxy server (http) port. if you haven't done it - it resolves the problem going to (in netscape) Edit>Preperences>Advanced>Proxies and give the proxy IP and port. it should work. Chocs New Delhi, India
