Every time i boot the PC i am being prompt to set up the X server. Indeed, the RH9 can not detect my video driver that is why it selects me some VESA generic. I downloaded the Radeon 9800 driver and i run it but that nothing changed. It still showing me VESA generic . Indeed, i am trying to change the refresh rate but either the RH9 does not allow me to do that or i am not doing something right. Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks

You need to edit /etc/X11/XF86Config and point it to the new driver for your video card!!! Also, you can change your refreshing rates, vertical & horizontal, there as well...

Hi Taurus,
Thanks for the replay. However, i was not able to make it. When i selected the directory /etc/X11/XF86Config I was only able to see the settings without being able to change anything. Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks
Carl

You need to be logged in as root to
edit /etc/X11/XF86Config.
