Hi guys. Good day. I'm currently using Win98 SE and I'm planning to have Linux OS on my Hard Disk. My question is that, is it possible to dual boot Linux with win98 or any other version of windows? and if it is, How? thanks.

Hi, yes it is possible.
Most current distro's I've tried setup a boot loader (grub) on your Master Boot Record that gives you a choice when turning on your pc.
First you must have some free space on the hard drive that you can repartition.
Then it when you run through the installation, it will give you an option for dual boot.
I know this is vague, but Mandrake and RedHat do make this very clear when running the install.
Good luck!

thanks. So regarding Partitioning, if I have a 20 GB hard disk space and I will Partition the 12 GB using FDISK and install Windows on it, should I do nothing with the remaining 8 and try to install Linux or should I Partition it and make it active? or what should I do? thanks.

I only partition what will be used by windows itself. The remaining part of the harddrive will get partitioned during the install of linux.
