Ok guys, I have a 128 MB ram and 600 mhz Compaq computer with mandrake 9.2 installed on it. I try to set up an adsl connection through -Control Centre- but everytime I run the wizard, my computer just keeps loading. (I waited half an hour before I got pissed and rebooted). Is there any way around that to set up my internet connection? (Btw I connect through a Hub).

P.S. I found connecting to the Internet with the PPP thing very easy in Knoppix, But I cant find it anywhere in Mandrake.. ><

If you are connected to a hub as is your ADSL router, you need to set up your networking correctly.

What IP is your router on? Can you ping it? Does your mandrake box have a static IP or does it get one via DHCP? Can you ping an IP address on the internet (eg 216.239.59.99)? Can you resolve domain names (try: host www.google.com)? What are the outputs of the commands "/sbin/ifconfig" and "/sbin/route"?

Sorry for all the questions, try to answer as many as you can....
