As I said in your previous post, cooker is a "generic" name for all mandrake betas, you must have downloaded an old iso image.

btw, if you want to use linux-2.6 and kde 3.2, why not just install _them_ instead of installing all unstable packages?

Ummm...Didn't I give you the name of the pre-beta isos in the last ::twitch:: of your MANY post(s)?!?!?! Ever heard of GOOGLE? Don;t you take into consideration of those who do try to help you? We don't get anything out of this except the feeling that one person has been helped and learned something from what we all share. When you just ignore the help that people take time out of their lives, it shows that you are unappreciative and insolent. And I know I have posted this to you many times before, but I'll post it one LAST time...GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND!!! And how are you ever going to truely learn how to use linux if you keep switching distros every week ::rolleyes::?!?!?

Do me a favor and stop cluttering this forum with your incessant, whinny, demand_a_answer_when_it's_so_easy_to_find_it_yourself questions. Don't you have a micro of any self gratification in you???

Sorry guys/gals, but this has been going on for too long (and I know some have the same feelings), and even as much I try to "over-look" his posts, they have been keeping me away from here. I guess it only takes one . Pffft, rant over.

Thank you to Andrew3 for his question and to
Audiphile for his answer. I am downloading
cooker and I dont know if it is necessary after your answer. But here is my question.

I want to have Kernel 2.6 . What should I do to be close to Mandrake 10. Should I download it from Cooker or from kernel.org.

I have another stupid question. I can recompile easily kernel 2.4.22 from Mandrake kernel sources. But now I want to add "swsusp" which is a programm which enables laptops like my sony to suspend by soft (feature no more in the bios). But the patches are for raw kernel 2.4.22 and not from Mandrake kernel sources. And the differences are huge. What should I do?

Should I start from official kernel and get a kernel which will be able to suspend but which probably would not have the features than those from Mandrake 9.2 or should I try to make Mandrake 9.2 diffs of swsusp (which will be a hard work)?

Thanks a lot for any comment even from estatik.

Yo, you guys chill out. First of all there's no reason to get an attitude with this guy. Second of all, as a user of mandrake 10, I know where he's coming from. If you do choose the upgrade option in the cooker install, it tends to keep kernel 2.4. I have tried this many times and yes I do have the correct isos. Just choose the install option then everything should install properly. As for you other guys, you should never jump to conclusions especially considering that you haven't had the same problem. When it comes to software, many problems can arise depending on one's system configuration and other software installed.
