I am not able to access the other machines on the network (all others are WindowsNT systems except mine) through my RedHat6.2 loaded machine. Please help me put of this state. Kindly tell me how I can mount the other systems and how I can access the hard drives in them.

look into man smbmount. Use the samba client to test connectivity.

smbclient //ip or comp. name/share neame -U username%password

you should be taken to the smb prompt. If you are gonna mount it automatically, I beleieve you need to modify the fstab in /etc
hope this helps.
