HELP!! Mandrake 9.0 not installing

ok, i think i prepared my comp for the installation of linux, but its still not working. i partitioned a part of my harddrive and everything,,, but it wont install correctly.... i get frequent errors in the instalation process. the error i get when its done installing is something like.... "your cd or cd-rom is not functional... rpm - qpl mandrake/rpms/*.rpm"
throughout the instalation i get error messages like : "kdemultimedia - 3.0.3 - 7mdk.i586"
does anyone know how i can get this to install correctly? please help!

where did you obtain the cd? Is it an .iso and did you burn it correctly?

If you are using an old CD-ROM it may not be recognizing the burned cd correctly. I had this problem installing RedHat 8.0. I temporarily installed a newer CD-ROM and was able to complete the install.
