I have an PCMCIA network adapter from 3Com, model 3CCFE575BT. It works fine in XP with 100MBPS network. But in Linux, with the same network, it just detects 10MBPS and does not work. RedHat Linux 7.2 recognizes my adapter and I use all the network configuring tools in it but have no result. Please help me!

hi
Well if you network card is recognized by Redhat7.2 try to follow the steps and see if it works.
at shell promt login as root
>neat
it would pop up a window network config.
IF you see eth0, configured it means that your device is ready to be used.Go to DNS tab and give your computer a name
and add default DNS server information.in the domain name option add domain name
like if the domain name is mchsi.com
add
mchsi.com and click addclick Apply at the bottom of the page.
This let you to log on to the network.
if you still have problems email me and let me know.
my email is linux@mchsi.com
Anil

Hi Anil,
As your suggestion, after typing in the "neat" command, the window pops up and in the "Devices" tab, I see "eth0 Ethernet".
Going to the DNS tab, I see:
Hostname: localhost.localdomain
Domain:
Primary DNS:
Secondary DNS:
Tertiary DNS:
DNS search path
Domain name Edit
Delete
Up
down
Search domain:Help Apply Cancel
Where should I input the information you sugessted?
I clicked on the edit button in the DNS search path-Domain name, it informs there is some bug, and log out.
When I configured my network card in installation process, I chose: Configure using DHCP. Is it ok? If it is, do I still type in the domain name or should I choose: Automatically obtain DNS information from provider in the TCP/IP settings?
Thank you very much for your help. I look forward to hear from you.
Khoi
