Comment:

GUI in RH9. the refresh rate is laggy. i have a gf4 ti series and on windows its good. but in linux when you drag windows its refresh rate is slow. is this just because GUI is not that good in linux right now? I am using gnome. i am guessing kde is not much different.

Are you running the nvidia drivers? You can
download them from nvidia's website....they
give a BIG performance boost for both 2 and
3d

yes, you need to download the binary-only nvidia drivers for 3D applications, and it also improves 2D performance.
This is only for NVIDIA cards, ATI cards work fine with the Xfree bundled drivers and the bundled "dri" in the kernel.
