I installed Caldera Amethyst realease on a clean 40gb hd, and then installed windows me... I use the GRUB loader... I thought something was wrong when I saw that the entire hd was avaliable to windows, but I just ignored it... But know the boot loader freezes when it says GRUB, which means the menu never comes up... But I still have my linux rescue disk, and with the help of that I could boot in to either linux, which was broke, and windows, that worked just until for a few days ago... I believe Iīve got some kinda virus, but, anyway I canīt boot into windows, because the register is corrupt... Is there any other solution than to format everything?

You can boot into the system from the GRUB> prompt. See: http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=4622 However you get into Linux, you should be able to re-write the GRUB menu from there. .

Try installing Windows OS first and then Linux after that. It would be much easier and simplier that way... Both grub or lilo should be able to boot both linux and windows. taurus
