I am a novice and have a major error. I just installed RH 7.3 and at the end of the install when i restarted the system just froze with a line saying "GRUB". There was no hard disk activity at all. I can start the system using the boot disk but that is all...
Are you attempting to Dual-boot it with something else? It sounds like the MBR (Master Boot Record) got messed. If so, see my reply in the Dual Boot Problem section.
I had the same problem. Run "grub-install /dev/hda#" to reinstall the bootable stuff. (# should be replaced by the number of the partition where you installed linux or the boot files)

hello guys i have two o.s. on my m/c red hat 7.1 and windows xp.Till now i was booting linux from the floppy by telling the bios to boot from the floppy disc.
Now I want to install GRUB to boot linux or window.
I have created floppy with grub-0.92-i386-pc.extfs2 and menu.lst file.
When I tell BIOS to boot from this floopy I see the following message abd the system hungs
"Booting from Removable Media GRUB _ "
Does any one know what the problem is and its solution ?
