I installed Sabayon Linux, and as usual I forgot unable the bootloader installer. I already had Acronis OS Selector.
Now Grub is installed, but it wont even load. It just says Grub, and nothing happens.
I had Windows XP PRO in HDA1 and the pagefile in HDA2. Also had another hardrive with 3 paritions: a 180GB partition with all my music and personal files. Then today I manually made a swap partition and a 6GB EXT3 partition.
I installed Sabayon in the EXT3 partition.
I'm posting this from a Ubuntu Live CD. I checked with Gparted and all my partitions and info is still there, but now I need a way to boot into XP, to check my files and reinstall Acronis OS Selector.
Help needed! Please!

Try booting off the ubuntu CD and then chrooting into the Sabayon install, eg:
# mkdir /mnt/sabayon
# mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/sabayon
# mount -t proc none /mnt/sabayon/proc
# mount --bind /dev /mnt/sabayon/dev
# chroot /mnt/sabayon /bin/bash
(NB with ubuntu you may have to use sudo to run the above commands unless logged in as root)
# grep -v rootfs /proc/mounts > /etc/mtabFrom there you can try installing grub/lilo.

I booted to windows using a floopy with the NTLDR in it. Reinstalled Acronios OS Selector.
But now I can't boot to linux. If I try from the bios I get a black screen, and if I try from Acronis OS Selector I also get a black screen...

Saikee's grub booting tips will enable you to get the right format to boot either your Windows or Linux OS.
Your best option is to use your rescue CD or your install CD #1. Boot using it and answer the usual initial questions and then at the appropriate moment instead of selecting install or upgrade, select other and one of the options in there is to boot your existing installation. If you do it right your linux should boot up OK. After that you can make changes as you wish.
I believe you can also use a live CD for this.

This suggests that maybe you have not installed GRUB correctly.
Have you tried any of Saikee's grub booting tips? One of his documented booting tips should be enough get your Linux up and running if GRUB is installed correctly. If it is not then you can use his tips to install it correctly as well.
You could also create and use a GRUB boot floppy and use that to boot into your Linux.
Finally you could try booting your Linux instalation from NTLDR. However, it still requires a properly installed GRUB or LILO.

The Grub floppy disk can help getting things done faster, instead of waiting for the LiveCD to load.
How do I make a GRUB floppy disk from Windows?

The floppy is a Linux floppy and as such I do not believe that you can produce it on a windows platform.
Use your live CD. You should be able to create the floppy then.
