Gnome is better for users that don't need a lot of quick Admin stuff. For example, if you were going to set up an office for a few people and you want them to leave things alone, then Gnome may be your best shot. The tools are all there for them to use (if they dig deep enough), but they are a bit harder to find.

KDE is a bit more for the power user (in my opinion).

Ultimately, it is a matter of personal choice. KDE is more for me.

There are other environments that are smaller and faster than Gnome or KDE.

Oh come on!!!

This is a bit like saying "Apples vs Oranges." Which is better? Give reasons. The answer is purely subjective. There is no objective answer. Just because there is a list of why apples are "better" will not mean that some people will still prefer oranges.

There is a saying "One man's meat is another man's poison" - what one person prefers does not suit another.

As it says above "Ultimately, it is a matter of personal choice."

Do a Google search on "Gnome versus KDE" and it will bring up a bunch of (mostly opinionated) stuff.
