Okay, now that I finally manage to installed and fix my screen resolution which nearly took me a full two days how do I get it to join a workgroup? With XP, you can go into system's properties and type in the workgroup you want to join. Ubuntu doesn't have that feature or does it and I'm just looking in the wrong spot? I was able to find a windows network folder and when opened I can see all windows PCs but unable to opened anything..

please help.

It used to be done with the smbpasswd command, eg:
# smbpasswd -j WORKGROUP

But now later versions of samba use:
# net join -w WORKGROUP

See "net help join" for more info.
