hi, I am triple boot win98se, win2k, and linux(mandrake 8.1). 1st, I installed win98 and then win2k. After that there's a startup menu to select the O/S. 2nd, I installed linux. Another startup menu that is the linux startup menu is show on startup. It's different from the win98 and win2k menu. When I turn on my computer, I have to select twice in order to load win98 or win2k, except linux. How can I get rid off all default startup menus? Can I use a win98 startup disk and type "fdisk /mbr" something like that? Then, use a boot magic to select my O/S. All of my O/S's are in its own partition. Thank you,

Well you answered your own question. There are many ways you can get it accomplished. That's one of them. Just in case anything goes wrong you could make backup copies of your boot sectors. You can use dd for this in linux. When you installed linux (assuming you used lilo) it created backups of your bootsector. There are several files in the /boot dir called boot.0300 or something similar the numbers refer to the HD and partition. You could restore one of these instead of giving the command "fdisk /mbr" this will restore your boot sector to the stage before installing linux and will probably get you back to having only the WIN2K menu at boot. Instead of installing Boot magic at that stage you could also choose to keep the WIN2K menu and add an entry for linux.
