I have a Dell Mini 9 with Ubuntu. When I first got it and read the disclaimers and stuff, I had to enter a password. I only need the password to do administrative tasks and, well, I don't remember it. I can't install any updates or change any settings. How can I reset this password? I did get an Ubuntu installation disk my netbook, but it doesn't have a CD drive anyway. I'm also not too familiar with Linux-based systems, so I need instructions as if I am a small child. Thank you! :)
P.S. Please forgive the typo in the subject title. :/

might even try sudo. If you are on the sudoers list you don't even need to change it but could with sudo passwd.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
