floppy error message

OS: Red Hat 7.3
CPU/Ram: pentium 4/128
Comment:

when attempting to mount my floppy i get this error message:

"could no mount device
The reported error was:
mount: you must specify the filesystem type"

But the thing is that it had no problem mounting a different floppy of mine. Thanks for the advice.

Try:
# mount -t auto /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy

If it is a DOS formatted floppy, you could
do:
# mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy

If it is a Linux formatted floppy, you could
do:
# mount -t ext2 /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
