I just installed the firewall gui Firestarter on my redhat 8.0 system. I'm trying to run a WWW and FTP server. I got these working so i figured i'd put up a firewall. I go through the wizard in firestarter and disable the things i don't use like telnet, etc and leave WWW and FTP open. But when i activate the firewall, i can't access the internet at all (can't get on webpages, etc). All the packets are caught by the firewall. Disable it, and everything is fine.

I'm using dynamic DSL with roaring penguin. I've googled around and see mention of using a proxy but all those pages seem to be talking about using the proxy for having a homework... i'm just using a standalone computer.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
