Specs: Mandriva Linux, AMD 1.6
hi. I recently installed Mandriva Linux to my Dell Inspiron notebook. Everything went fine, but when i tried to partition the hard disk ,in order to install windows, during start up, mandriva just sends me to the shell and asks to repair the file system. I'm kinda new at this so any help is appreciated.

The best and easiest way to install Windows and Linux together on the same hard drive for dual boot operations is to install Windows first, allowing empty disk space for the Linux install. Then, install Linux into the empty space. With RedHat based (RedHat 9.0, Fedora, Enterprise) the grub boot loader will add an entry "other" to the boot menu (I suspect if you choose the grub boot loader it will make the same entry under any distribution.) This is the Windows install. You can change the wording by editing the grub.conf file in the /boot/grub folder.
