fedora core username?

I want to create a home webserver and tried ot fallow some instructions online. Downloaed fedora core 5 and tried installing it for some reason it freezes a alot during instalation but i actually got it installed one time and booted up and it wanted my login name and password before it entered the gui OS. I never set a login name but I did set a password so I dont understand what it wanted me to do. tried not entering naything for login tried admin tried the password as the login no luck.

Use root as the username. Root under unix like operating systems is the equivelent of the administrator account.
