Hi!!

I just installed Fedora core 4 on a new HD that I installed as master slave in my computer. Fedora installs just fine but when I re-boot my computer after the installation win 98 starts. I chose to install grub when installing fedora but theres no boot menu or anything at start up.
Whit other words what Im looking for is a way to get like a start up menu from where I can choose to start up fedora or windows.

Thanks in advance

Where did you install your boot loader to? You want to write it to your MBR to get a menu every time you boot. Did you make a boot floppy? Are you able to boot the system with the help of the installation CD? If so, re-install grub/lilo to your MBR, most probably /dev/hda.

BTW You can't have a "master slave" drive, it must be one or the other. You can have a primary master, primary slave, secondary master and secondary slave. I'm guessing you meant primary slave (/dev/hdb).

I did choose to install grub to the MBR in the fedora installation program, however I doubt that it did ever replace the original windows boot loader. Is there a way to check if it did??
I cant boot the system with the installation cd and Im not sure how to create a boot floppy for fedora.
Is there any way to install grub/lilo using windows??

Your absolutely right, I did mean Primary slave.
I also have a aditional storage space for windows partition on the new HD so the fedora partition doesnt start from the first sector but im not sure if this could have any thing to do with the problem??

Thanks for your time, since Im wery new to fedora/linux dont be surprised if my problems seem a little... trivial.
