I would like to see if it possible to change my screen resolution 1024x800. I have an nVidia GeForce MX 420 with Microtek c593 monitor. Can this be done with the nVidia display drivers?

ive been trying to install fedora core three and when i burned the discs i put it in my computer and it didnt even recognize my cd please help
thankx

Hi ,
If you DID burned the CD's correctly , and changed the boot sequence in the correct order , there shouldnt be any problems , the anaconda installer would have started properly ,For the first question , all you need to do is dig up the configration file , search for "VESA" or "NV" and if its on NV , its on the generic .Next .. you have to download the drivers from www.nvidia.com , exit x-server , install the file , update the config file , reboot the system , and that should update the driver to get any resolution and any opengl game to play .
I know it sounds complicated for newbies , dont worry, there is a readme file in the nvidia driver file in TXT format which will give a detailed guide of each of the following .
If you guys have any questions feel free to mail me @ indra2000_in@yahoo.com :-)

The thing is, I type in
"sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7167-pkg1.run"
and it just tells me
"sh: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7167-pkg1.run: No such file or directory".
Even after downloading them to Desktop. I close X and go to CL (still gives me same message). Nvidia also suggestes doing it through a VGA consle (which I do not know how to). Still nothing. Mabey I should find out how to do it though the VGA Consle. How do I do that? Am I supposed to use "yum" command? or "install" becasue it looks like "sh" isnt working. Any suggestions?

put "./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7167-pkg1.run" without quotes and press enter. NOTE THE DOT AND THE SLASH!
