would fedora work on a 160mhz pentium notebook? it would really be awesome stuff i can use it and it worked maybe not fast but just ok.

RAM makes all the difference. How much RAM do you have? I don't care about the 512Mb in your 1.8GHz. The only thing that bugs me more than that annoying CPU/RAM option is when people who should use it don't.

Anyway, you won't be able to run GNOME or KDE well. You can probably scratch Mozilla too. If you use [Black|Flux]box or XFCE for the desktop and Fire[bird|fox] for a browser, however, it'll at least be usable.

Yes it is posible.

I have a Dell XPI 133Mhz Pentium running Red Hat 7/KDE 2/Phoenix(Small Browser)/KOffice/Linksys Wi-Fi Card. It has 40MB RAM, and it could use as much as possible. It isn't the most enjoyable to use, but I remember a time when a computer that fast didn't exist (I'm not even 25).

Keep the install to a minimum and max out the RAM. Upgrading to a new hard drive with low seek times doesn't hurt either.
