I using the imap feature in the Pine mail client to read mail from my Companies MS-Exchange server. It’s not difficult to configure and here is a sample of my .pinerc file.

# List of SMTP servers for sending mail. If blank: Unix Pine uses sendmail.
smtp-server=192.168.50.32

# Path of (local or remote) INBOX, e.g. ={mail.somewhere.edu}inbox
# Normal Unix default is the local INBOX (usually /usr/spool/mail/$USER).
inbox-path={192.168.50.32}inbox

You can find out more information about pine here; http://www.washington.edu/pine/
