Ethernet SiS 900

Hi people,,, i have a big problem... i just installed red hat 8.0 and i cant configure my ethernet sis 900 ... i put in /etc/modules.conf the following line: alias eth0 sis900 and after in command line: modprobe eth0 and appear a message that no such device ... after it,, i installed mandrake and the same problem persist... ahh when a installed windows xp... this device ( sis 900 )works fine... Can anyone help me???
