I have a question:

As long as the NIC card is working correctly, does it matter what type of hub you are using?

I ran across a free Kingston hub, and was wondering if it would be usable?

Thank You

It shouldn't matter as long as they (NIC and HUB) are capable of running at the same speed 10 or 100Mbit/s.
