Ethernet Cards into Monkey Linux

I had a Pentium 100 with network PCI Realtek RTL8029 and a HD 250MB, I want to install a Linux join with windows, the only that will can compatible will be the Monkey Linux, but always appear a message warning that the Kernel is very old. How I can make to reconized the card network ?

The rtl8029 is a ne2000 pci clone. The driver is ne2k-pci, and should be included with pretty much any linux distro.
