Hey, I am trying to use sendmail of my box(RH 6.2), but i get the following error message "500 error user unknown". I have made changes on "/etc/mail/access" to accept emails from that domain but it still generates the same error

Hello, You might want to try adding your servers host name into the sendmail conf file sometimes sendmail can't tell the host name unless you do this.

Read the error coreectly... as per your message it said: "user unknown"!! Where this error came from??? Your server or recipient's server? It mean that there is no user with that name on this specific server.
Verify the smtp session's logs to see what sendmail is doing exactly. First increase the log level for more verbose information.
