I have been trying to get wake-on-lan working on my Linux machine.. I did some research on trying to enabling it, I gathered that I needed either a Vortex, Tulip, or Boomerang driver for the 3Com card I have... I looked at my driver it was neither of the 3, but I opened up the module I am using (3c59x.o) and saw a bunch of lines containing vortex and I did a search for "wol" and it had a few lines saying something around enum_para_enable_wol=3c59x so I tried copying and pasting one of those lines into a command: [root@localhost]# modprobe 3c59x enum_para_enable_wol turned the machine off and tried sending it the magic packet, and still nothing... thats where I am now. I have enabled wake-on-lan in the BIOS, my card is intregated into the board(Asus A7N8X-Deluxe) the NIC is an 3Com 3C920B-EMB. Any Idears?
