Hi, I am a complete n00b with Linux. I decided to switch because I was having so much trouble with Windows. I would like to know of a good dvd video burning program with a gui. My drive is a Memorex IDE drive, currently I have DVD-R discs. Also I would need some installation instructions, too.
I have the program installed, however I haven't used it to actually burn DVDs, the most I have done with it was launch the GUI a couple of times.

I have that program installed, but I'm not sure how to properly burn a DVD with it.

What about rip DVD? Eitherway, you may want to go over a tutorial material to familiarize yourself with the program workings - essentially what Linux is all about to beginners.

I have done some reading, and it seems that you can run Nero with Wine... the only problem is that I can't find where it was put it isn't in the /home/[user name]/.wine/drive_c/program files directory, even though that is supposed to be the C:\Program Files equivalent (according to winecfg), the installer said that it was to be installed to C:\Program Files\Ahead. If I re-run the installer it shows that it was properly installed. Any thoughts on this? Perhaps I should start a new thread?
thanks

"...you can run Nero with Wine..." Why not just install nero for linux? I think if you have a windoze key it will work too.
Personally I use k3b, tovid and qdvdauthor.

I am using K3B and would say it does 100% of the items I need at the moment. It is included in the repositories of Ubuntu and Suse and you can install it by selecting it form the software manager.
I have tried cdroaster about a year ago but was not impressed. changed to K3B and have not looked back maybe it improved in a recent update.
