Hello!
This is a strange request indeed...But i am seeking to dual boot Redhat 6.2 and 7.3.
I have tried to install 6.2 then install 7.3, but the 7.3 installation will not recognize the 6.2 install on the GRUB or LILO configuration screens.

Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated, and thanks in advance

Craig

Craig, you can modify LILO file to by typing in the /boot partition like hda5 & the image #s boot RH 6.2 look at the lilo in it. Write it down then add it under the image stuff for 7.3. I only did this once a long time ago. I install Mandrake last and it has always found all the bootable partitions on all the HD in the system. Plus it calls Windows Windows & not DOS. I have RH 7.1 also. It has few little things like that is why I slightly prefer Mandrake. I am going to try SuSE next.
Do a search on LILO or Grub to find much better instuctions. this is a start

If you tell me where, /dev/hd??, are your
RedHat Linux 6.2 & 7.3, I may be able to
show you how to add those two entries in
/etc/lilo.conf! Of course, I need to know
which kernel you are using also...

If you installed RH7.3 with grub, you just edit /boot/grub/menu.lst to add another group of 3 lines for RH6.2.

Just copy the existing RH7.3 lines, add an empty line and these 3 lines to the end of the file.

Change in the newly added lines the devices to point to RH6.2 (i.e. /dev/hdb6), adjust the name of the linux to vmlinuz (there is always a link to that name).

Save the changes and you are ready to reboot.

If you made a mistake, you can (temporary) fix it while booting the system in editing the lines on the grub screen.

Grub DOES NOT need a rerun of the tool like LILO, you just edit and reboot.
