Hi all,
Just installed linux on primary master hdd. My XP is on my secondary master. When I start my linux installation for the first time, there's only Linux on lilo's boot menu.
I tried to edit /etc/lilo.conf adding a line "other=/dev/hdc" as advised by dual booting tutorials to try to make lilo boot my XP but it didn't work and hanged.
Currently, I'm going to the bios to change the bootup sequence to switch between using xp and linux.
Is it possible to get lilo to boot the system up by going to another harddisk (secondary master) with an entire independently installed os without modifying the bootrecord (in case of data loss disaster)?

I really don't know much about lilo or grub as I have not used them with Linux. I use system commander 7 because I had it before I loaded red hat 7.3. If you want something that works well and you don't have to tweak it like lilo, try OSLoader. It's free and easy to install and use. Best of all...it's free. You can find it at OSLoader.com.
good luck.
