I have a winxp home computer, with one 60gb hard drive. I'm going to receive a new hard drive to add anyday.
Can i install linux on the second hard drive, and keep xp on the first hard drive? How would I set up booting? Does grub go on the mbr of drive 1 (xp) or drive 2 (liux)? Which one should I boot from? And which one should be set to 'slave'?
And finally, does winxp use the mbr to store its boot up stuff, or the sector right after it?
Pardon my ignorance, I'm really new at this.

1. Yes, you can install Linux (which distro anyway) on the second drive which knows as a slave where the first drive is a master...

2. You can install either grub or lilo on your MBR to handle dual boot: Windows XP & Linux.

I have Windows XP Pro on the first drive while Slackware and RedHat on the second drive and lilo has no problem booting either one.
