Well, you dont configure anything in windows.
When you install linux, in the last stage of the boot loader installation, if you choose MBR the existing windows boot loader is replaced with Linux boot loader (lilo or grub). Both the boot loaders have conf files which are found in /etc/lilo.conf or /etc/grub.conf. You can configure a lot in these files.
But like I said before, during the install of Linux, you will get an option to add other OS's.
So basically, install windows first, and then Linux.
Hope this helps.

Use Grub with XP, or risk it not booting.
My current configuration has 98, XP, and Mandrake 10 on it.
I boot with Grub loader. When I tried using LiLo, I ended up having to repartition, reformat, and start all over again.
What my system does is offer a menu for Linux or Windows. If I select Linux, then Mandrake boots. If I select Windows, it then comes up with the menu for XP or 98.
I installed them in order of age. 98, then XP, then Linux. In any scenario, Linux goes on last.
Also, when you partition, make sure you set aside the room for each one (including a Linux swap partition), rather than letting the OSes do it.
Remember, Grub or potential failure.
