The problem I am having is trying to dual boot with Red Hat 9 & Mandrake 9.2. I have reinstalled both O/s's and remembered to make a rescue disk for RedHat. So now I have RedHat that will at least start from the floppy and Mandrake which starts as default.

So my computer starts in LILO with the only options available are to start in Mandrake 9.2 the MBR of RedHat is gone. I can access RedHat only by using the floppy.

I am happy to do whichever you recommend, remember keep your instructions basic. One thing I was thinking of doing was reinstalling both O/S's from scratch again, but this time install Mandrake first & RedHat after that, maybe RedHat won't destroy the MBR like Mandrake did.

If you can help me create a MBR that shows Red Hat aswell as Mandrake in plain English, please do!

Thanks for your help, Dave.

Why don't you use GRUB from RedHat Linux 9.0 as your bootloader? It can boot either RedHat or Mandrake. Look in /boot/grub/grub.conf and insert the field for your Mandrake boot partition. Save it and run "grub-install /dev/hda" again to install it on the MBR...
If you are not sure how to do it, e-mail me your /boot/grub/grub.conf and I can take a look!

Well why don't you see the instructions I've given in your previous post?
Its as simple as adding your mandrake parition to your /etc/grub.conf (symlinked to /boot/grub/menu.lst) as taurus said.
I have so many systems installed on my computer, I can boot them all using grub.

Btw, You can run grub-install /dev/hda as taurus said, instead of running "grub" and working from the grub shell. However, you should run "grub-install" from the redhat system, not from the mandrake one (coz you're using your redhat grub.conf and adding mandrake to it).
You can use the grub shell and type "root (hd0,0)" as I have mentioned earlier if you want to work from mandrake itself. The mandrake GRUB will then read the files in /dev/hda1 (redhat), provided that you have GRUB installed on your mandrake system.
