I have 2 hard drives in my computer right now.
An 80 gig with windows XP installed, and a 20 gig that is just empty. The 80 gig is the master and the 20 obviously is the slave. I wish to install Red hat 8.0 on the 20 gig, but am not sure how to go about the boot loaders and stuff. I heard that XP has problems if the Windows boot loader and stuff arent there.. but i am not sure. XP is using NTFS. I also wish to use GRUB as the boot loader. If anyone has any solutions, thx.

It will work fine... I just finished an install of RedHat 8.0 I used Grub... It wrote to the boot sector of my XP drive,(NTFS) without any problems... Infact, I am typing this from XP right now... Your hard drives are the same as mine, 100 /40 is the only difference... I had Zero problems getting throught the install... I however am just learning about linux... and since I am not the only one who uses this machine, I put the default boot as DOS, (WinXP) Grub calls it DOS... It will work...
Randy on the other hand.. Stay away from partition magic... Caused me nothing but problems... RedHat called it 2nd party partitioning software and didn't recognize it very well... I reccommend a second drive...

Leave the master and slave settings alone..
