Comment:
I am dual booting Linux and Windows 98. Win98 was installed in C: and Linux in D:. These two partitions exist on one hard disk. When the PC boots, i get two options to choose from - Linux and DOS. If i am not quick enough, by default it boots up to Linux. How do i configure it to boot up to DOS (win 98) by default instead? Thanks a lot.

On the Linux partition under /etc there is a file called lilo.conf. In that file there should be a line which reads: default=linux change this to: default=DOS
That should default the boot option to Windows.
