hi there, i have a little problem, i have installed windows home edition and redhat enterprise linux client 5 (gnu grub)version 0.97 under two different partition i can load windows correctly and redhat to perhaps when i see the file being loaded the screen will then turn black i need to know what do i have to type manually to fix the problem thank you.

Might have to put in a live cd or rescue floppy to see exactly where the RH is. Then modify the grub.conf file. (that may not be correct file in RH)
Since it didn't load correctly I'd also be rather worried. Be sure you make a ntbackup with system state on the xp before you go any farther.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

I thinkg you didn't give the path of the image file that displaying in the boot system Grub. you should give the entry of that image file in your grub. so you need the rescue cd.
