hi there...i have an old digital camera i got as a promotion for signing up for earthlink. its been broken a while so i decided to take it apart. i found a whole bunch of corrosion from when it must have been dropped in water or something, cleaned it out and now it works great. however, i would like to get it working under linux now, but i can't get it automatically detected, and it doesn't seem to be supported under gtkam 0.1.7. i did some searching and can't find much at all, and nothing about the camera for linux. is there some sort of generic digital camera driver out there, or maybe an actual linux driver?

the camera:

Digital DscPRO
True Digital VGA 640x480 - 2MB
FCC ID=ksx-x9905
homepage (not working) www.xirlink.com

Thanks everyone!

there are no linux (kernel) drivers for different cameras, unlike windows. Theres a "usb-mass storage device" driver which can be compiled as module or in the kernel itself. Load the module, check that you have scsi generic and scsi disk drivers loaded and try to mount the camera from something like /dev/sda1
