ello.

From what i've heard, wine only emulates windows applications, and far from all windows applications runs smooth on wine. There is always some minor problems, and sometimes requies a little tweaking.

I've never heard of anyone who successfully installed windows drivers on linux using wine, so i don't think i'll work very good, if at all.

Im kind of in the same situation as you are.. Have no drivers for my wireless PCI card...

I'm having a guess, but if you successfully
install drivers with wine then they will
probably only be available for use by
applications run with wine too. This link with a walkthrough may help you:

If you still can't get it to work then write
to linksys. The more requests they get for
GNU/Linux drivers the more likely they will
spend time developing one.

I had the same problem with redhat 9 seeing my netgear wg311 wireless card. I found a commercial driver loader at Http//:www.linuxant.com. It cost $19.95 and works well. It loads the windows XP driver in a wrapper and configures it for use under Linux. The program loads the Windows driver right off the OEM CD that came with the network card. The only glitch I have found is that on my system it does not work with the SMP kernel. So at boot time I load the non SMP kernel. I haven’t noticed any performance hit’s so I am well pleased with how every thing is working.
