Hello,

Is there a way to "downgrade" a linux-kernel? Because I have an Alcatel Speed Touch PCI modem for my ADSL-connection, and as far as I know, it will only work under the 2.4.8 kernel...So is there a way to get that kernel instead of my RedHat 8.0 (2.4.18-14 i guess) kernel?

thx,

Kristof

Reply:

download the particular kernel from the kernel.org mirror site, compile and install. keep is as a multi-kernel system. Select at boot time.

However, make sure the kernel supports all the other hardware as well.
