I have to download files for my little mac
classic on linux because the mac dosnt have
an internet connecttion. If I download the
files on windows, it will strip the
resource fork from the "Apple Macintosh
file" and corrupt it. Will linux do this if
I am using the ect3 filesystem?

What kind of an "Apple Macintosh File" is it? Whatever it is it shouldn't get corrupted on any reasonable filesystem.
btw, aren't you using some kind of *nix system on your little mac classic?

I am not up on mac stuff but if you want to keep permissions or whatever, why not use something like stuffit first to compress the file...that may help.
