I am using KPPP to connect to the internet. I can connect but I can not go to any sites like google.com I can telnet to IP addresses though. Does anyone have a list of free DNS addresses that I can use to go to sites. The people at my ISP arn't helpful at all.(ISP West)

Help me so I can use Linux only and not Windows!

I have a few that come to mind. The ip numbers below should go in your /etc/resolv.conf file in the form

nameserver ip.number.of.dns_server

nslookup -querytype=ns ispwest.net

ispwest.net nameserver = ns2.aceweb.net.
ispwest.net nameserver = ns.aceweb.net.
ispwest.net nameserver = ns1.aceweb.net.

nslookup ns2.aceweb.net
Name: ns2.aceweb.net
Address: 66.12.114.250

nslookup ns.aceweb.net
Name: ns.aceweb.net
Address: 216.52.245.3

nslookup ns1.aceweb.net
Name: ns1.aceweb.net
Address: 216.52.245.4

It is generally bad netiquette to use
another ISPs DNS servers.

A search on google for "isp west" dns
server
brought up the following two
links right away:
http://www.ispwest.com/first_time_config.html
and
http://www.ispwest.com/faq.html

They both say to use 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2
