If you like Knoppix, you could try Morphix Light GUI. Another option is Slackware, which should include either BlackBox or FluxBox. Don't install GNOME or KDE. Also, you'll probably want to use MozillaFirebird rather than Mozilla. Finally, the latest version of OpenOffice.org runs faster and takes up less RAM and hard drive space than old versions of StarOffice, so don't be tempted to use an old version of SO rather than a newer OO version.

knoppix has a built in option to do a hard drive install if i recall
knx-hdinstall
you will need to use the root console or the sudo command first because you need to be root not knoppix user
example
sudo knx-hdinstall
if command for hdinstall is incorect google.com use the search engine

(hd install is about 2 gigs in all)

Knoppix is based on KDE and will be very slow on a 266 with 60Mb of RAM.

Alright, a question (i tried the fluxbox GUI on knoppix to see what it was like), whenever I try to resize a window using the lower right "anchor", it seems to go wildly out of control, and off screen...... I doing something wrong? (usually ends up being what it is)

Thanks
