Hi all,

I am trying to install Redhat 7.3 on a machine already have Windows ME. The machine has 1 single 20gig harddrive. I have 5 gig primary partition for C drive, another 4 gig extended for D drive.

When I am in Disk Druid, I tried to make 3 partitions: swap, /boot and /.

However, it always returns me with an error on my 3rd Linux partions as Disk Druid is creating them all as Parimary parations. Obiviously it won't work as there can only be 3 Primary.

I tried on another machine with no Windows on it. When it comes to more than 3 Primary, Disk Druid will automatically create an extended partition and have all other Linux partitions created inside that extended.

My question is why didn't it work on a machine with Windows on it? What makes it unable to create Extended partition? Can I manually create an extended partion, like fdisk?

Thanks for the help

Use fdisk to partition instead of Disk Druid. It will let you specify whether you are making a primary or extended partition.
