I have win98se and Mandrake linux which loads LILO at startup for dual booting. Is there any way to disable lilo so i can format C: Drive (win98se) and install win2000 and then enable lilo to dual boot mandrake with 2000. do i have to create a boot disk or something.

Just installing win2000 will get rid of lilo (and not even ask you about it!) so first thing to do is to create and test a boot floppy for mandrake. You can make one with the command mkbootdisk. Once that works you can install win2000 (you can format the partition during setup....if you want to easily share file etc format it to FAT and not NTFS) and then use the floppy to boot mandrake to reinstall lilo (with the command lilo).
