I just bought a digimax 130 digital camera, but it doesn't go with Linux it says. I am afraid of plugging it into the computer without knowing what it will do. Has anyone used this digital camera with Linux?

I've never used that camera, infact I've never used a digital camera...
Find out what the camera actually is, does it take compactflash cards? smartmedia cards?
is it USB?
Then compile your kernel with usb-mass storage support if needed, along with the usb support, and the filesystem which goes along with the card you put in the camera, and which the camera can read...

After doing all this, you can probably mount the memory normally, anywhere in your filesystem, and get the images...

I think I came across an HOWTO about this, maybe you should check http://www.tldp.org
