hi, all of the operating systems you have mentioned are free. if you are really interested in trying a unix-like operating system, i'd suggest buying a linux-mandrake boxed set... it's by far the most beginner friendly. BSD (FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD) is geared towards more experienced users.
