Comment:

I have recently added a new harddisc (at
IDE1-slave) to my RH7.3 box. Bios recognises
it all right, but RedHat does nothing at
all. I thought it should ask me about this
disc at boot time?

Can anybody help me with this?
Thx,
teXnetia

Windows asks what to do at boot time, Linux waits for you to tell it what to do.

You need to partition it, and format the partitions.

To partition, use fdisk (a bit user unfriendly), cfdisk (a bit better) or parted (my favourite).

Parted also lets you format the partitions, otherwise you will need to use mkfs.

Then the partitions created to your /etc/fstab

That's the cross platform way. If Redhat 7.3 has its own tools, I'm sure someone will tell you (or it will be in the manual)
