my friend gave me a hard drive with linux on but i want to format it and put win98 on but the fdisk from the win98 boot disk won't delete the linux created partition. i cant find any links with a download so i am in major need of help. Thanks

Patition magic will fix it. You could get a Linux distro on a floppy from Linux.org as well. Then boot to linux and run its fdisk. This is much better than any MS version.

If you still have the linux CD, pop it in and run the linux fdisk utility. List the partitions and proceed to delete each one. You should then be able to boot from a Win98 floppy disk, run fdisk, and format to Fat32.
